In our quest to bring our shows and experiences to the hearts and minds of millions of fans in every country around the world, we are looking for an experienced leader for the Kids and Family vertical, VStar Entertainment Group (VStar), to deliver the next generation of kids & family experiences rooted in live entertainment with extensions across multiple platforms, distribution channels, retail and consumer products.   As the GM of VStar, you will drive the successful growth and expansion of our Kids & Family business. You will have a proven track record in developing successful growth strategy with kids & family products and delivering outstanding results whilst maintaining strong relationships with key partners. You will work with a broad array of Cirque’s cross-functional teams including our Resident Shows Division (RSD), Touring Shows Division (TSD) and Brand and Commercialization Division. The right candidate will have expertise in Kids & Family entertainment, Digital experience, Social Media, and has worked closely with key Kids & Family strategic partners (Nickelodeon, Mattel, Netflix, Disney…).   Responsibilities: ·         Develop and drive the overall strategic direction for the Kids & Family line of business through product development and expansion; ·         Oversee and optimize the current portfolio of Kids & Family partnerships through expansion of experiences and new product extensions (ie. FECs, cruise ships, hotels, retail, NFTs, games, music and publishing through IP ownership); ·         Structure and discuss innovative Kids & Family strategic partnerships, working directly with C-level executives and multiple stakeholders across Cirque; ·         Curate, expand and develop relationships with entertainment partners, IP owners and digital influencers for campaign activations and event; ·         Lead business development activities to secure new partnerships in the Kids and Family segment including prospective deal vetting, contract negotiations, partnership implementation and analysis tailored to the needs of each partner and situation; ·         Develop, cultivate and manage senior level relationships with content and product providers across the media and entertainment industry; ·         Effectively monitor the work of Management, Creative, Operations and Production teams to ensure a seamless, successful realization of projects to ensure the connection points of our storytelling with intended audiences; ·         Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Resident Shows Division, Touring Shows Division, marketing, legal, finance leaders) to align on business needs, implications, financial impact and execution/resourcing requirements for partnership opportunities; ·         Effectively manage the performance of the Kids & Family leadership team, ensuring growth, team cohesiveness and succession planning; ·         Be accountable for meeting cost and revenue targets; ·         Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial performance reports; ·         Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics; ·         Drive the company’s operating capabilities by setting comprehensive goals for performance and growth; ·         Complete other duties as assigned.   Skills & Requirements: ·         Bachelor’s degree (MBA is a plus) in a related field; ·         At least 15 years of previous experience working at a major Media or Entertainment related organization at the executive level with senior accountability translating IP content into branded experiences; ·         A proven ability to launch initiatives that meaningfully improve business performance; ·         Demonstrated ability to understand and respond to the needs of existing partners and adapt to dynamic business environments to attract new partners; ·         Previous experience leading a high-performance team with a culture of care and a drive for continuous improvement; ·         Proven ability to lead and direct a diverse multi-level team in analyzing, planning, developing and executing programs and projects; ·         Strong relationship development skills and experience negotiating complex agreements with multiple layers and fostering enduring partnerships; ·         Ability to balance multiple high-priority initiatives and lead time sensitive partnerships and/or projects simultaneously, with minimal supervision, operating with an entrepreneurial, open-minded, collaborative, and committed approach to business development; ·         Previous responsibility of managing the P&L; ·         Proven analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities; ·         Exceptional communication and decision-making skills; ·         International business development/management experience; ·         A passion for people, a knack for embracing change, as well as an engaging and mobilizing approach; ·         Integrity and observance of ethics and values; ·         High energy level, team player (focus on the “we”) dedicated to excellence for internal and external customers; ·         Availability to work outside of normal business hours; ·         Willingness to travel (domestical and international) as needed; ·         Success in developing staff with a focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; ·         Fluency in English, both written and spoken; French is an asset; ·         Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one’s identity and work authorization; ·         Although not a pre-employment condition, this position requires you to be fully vaccinated.
