Engineering Manager, SRE Security (Meraki)

Cisco Meraki is seeking a motivated and collaborative Engineering Manager to lead the SRE Security team and development activities for our Security, Compliance and Federal initiatives.

You will oversee a team of dedicated Engineers with the responsibility for commercial and public certifications as well as authorizations (e.g. PCI DSS, FedRAMP, SOC2). This multifaceted role requires a technical background and an organized, meticulous approach to reinforce program strategy to collaborators across the business. In this role, you will partner with other SRE teams, Engineering, Security, Operations, Product Management, IT, and sister Cisco compliance teams implementing compliance requirements while driving executive alignment.

You will have the opportunity to drive Meraki's compliance strategy as we expand our addressable markets into federal governments, new compliance-appropriate verticals, and global markets. Your team's efforts will help minimize the risk associated with security vulnerabilities in our products.

As an SRE Manager at Meraki, you will guide architectural leadership, teach good code review and design practices, and focus relentlessly on building, securing and scaling our platform. You will link your team's goals to the wider organization by telling stories that empower and inspire. You will be a strong mentor, nurturing a collaborative environment where your team can do their best work. You will have opinions about the direction of engineering at Meraki, and will directly contribute to the rapid evolution of our platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES AS AN ENGINEERING MANAGER:

• Lead the SRE Security team and hold regular one-on-ones; ongoing coaching and mentorship, writing performance evaluations, and compensation planning. Grow staff into tech leads or managers, according to their chosen track.
• Help build the strategy and roadmaps for privacy, security, and compliance for the Meraki cloud and product lines
• Assist with metrics, define the Operational Excellence, and establish quarterly OKRs.
• Partner with our counterparts in the Security and Compliance organization to pilot and refine security practices throughout the organization
• Translate user requirements, regulations, and policies into useful engineering and process requirements
• Work on vulnerability remediation processes
• Develop and maintain metrics and data models related to compliance regimes like FedRAMP/PCI/SOC2 to drive compliance and optimization improvements

• You have a strong understanding of cloud architecture and security concepts
• Prior privacy and compliance experience with knowledge of regulations such as FedRAMP, NIST, ISO 27001, PCI, and SOC2
