JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE
Our busy financial institution is currently looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Teller. The successful candidate will provide excellent banking service to clients in a professional and courteous manner, maintain a basic understanding of our banking products and services, accurately and efficiently process client transactions and fully comply with company and departmental policies and regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position performs the following duties, including but not limited to;
- Responsible for comprehensive, prompt and efficient customer transactions.
- Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts and loan payments, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement as needed, and enters deposits and loan payments into computer records.
- Sells cashier’s checks.
- Balances cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares totaled amount to teller system. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
- Ensures that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
- Cashes checks and processes withdrawals; pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
- Counts, checks and packages coins and currency.
- Assists with bank-by-mail, night depository and ATM functions, as necessary.
- May open new deposit accounts, safe deposit box accounts and perform other CSR responsibilities, as necessary, in the absence of the customer service representative.
- Meets performance/production goals as determined by management.
- Performs vault teller responsibilities, as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months to one year of cash handling experience in a customer-service environment, preferred but not required.
• Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other common PC-based software.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time while processing customer transactions.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (boxes/bags of coins, etc.)
