JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE
The Universal Banker provides administrative assistance to the loan officer. Promotes and cross-sales financial institution products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Receives bank visitors, provides information and directs them to appropriate staff as necessary.
- Provides administrative assistance to loan officer, including preparing and assembling documentation for various types of loans as well as assisting the loan officer in clearing loan documentation exceptions.
- Schedules appointments with customers, attorneys, realtors and other third parties.
- Prepares documentation and closes small loans under the guidance and approval of the loan officer.
- Orders credit reports, background checks, reference checks and other information as needed on loan applicants.
- Ensures accuracy in every aspect of the loan files handled.
- Answers telephone inquiries and written inquiries concerning bank products and services.
- May assist with teller/CSR duties, as needed.
- Promotes and cross-sells financial institution products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Six months to one year experience in a financial institution preferred, but not required.
- Above average ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with customers and third parties about the bank’s products and policies.
- Good understanding of financial institution products and services.
- Ability to read and comprehend training materials, bank communications and related loan manuals.
- Ability to learn and follow bank policies regarding the lending process.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other common PC-based software.
