POSITION SUMMARY:

Position is responsible for gathering and analyzing credit information on current and potential borrowers; determines the advisability of granting credit for diversified types of loans; assists loan officers in writing loan requests; promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties are primarily performed and which are essential for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Performs pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests within framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
  • Gathers data from customers, internal and outside sources; prepares spreadsheets and analyzes financial information including financial statements and tax returns; obtains additional information and clarification of data.
  • Compiles data from credit bureaus, conducts industry peer comparisons, and performs cash flow analyses and other such tasks and comparisons.
  • Obtains sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; solves problems relative to processing and servicing of loans.
  • Checks pledged assets.
  • Assists with on-going computerization of the loan review function.
  • Verifies funds with mortgage companies and contractors.
  • Develops knowledge of financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, vendors and competition.
  • May represent the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business.
  • Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees.
  • Updates and corresponds with legal counsel and collectors on workouts, bankruptcies, and charge-offs to ensure all possible precautionary actions or measures are taken.
  • Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; Inspires the trust of others; works ethically and with integrity; upholds organizational values; accepts responsibility for own actions.
  • Assures compliance with all Bank policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules and regulations; adheres to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) responsibilities that are specific to the position.
  • Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports the Bank’s goals and values; benefits the Bank through outside activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • One year credit analyst experience.
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must successfully pass criminal background check.
  • Must successfully pass credit background check.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
