Safety Manager

City Brewing Company, a leading manufacturer in the beverage industry, has an immediate opening for a Safety Manager at our La Crosse, WI facility. This position will provide full time health, safety and security leadership to site operations and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with company policies and programs as well as federal, state, and local laws.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Development of all safety and health programs for the company’s operations at the plant level. The incumbent will be the onsite expert of OSHA regulations, and corporate safety programs. Utilizing a broad knowledge of compliance programs, and utilizing all resources available, will be responsible to ensure not only compliance, but also making the safety and health programs productive in injury and illness prevention.
• Provide effective leadership to the Safety Department staff and collaborate as a team to ensure all policies, procedures and training for all safety and health programs from compliance to effective training materials for all levels of staff, from the leadership group, plant hourly employees, safety committee(s), outside contractors, and visitors. Develop effective training materials to share with all qualified and affected personnel, maintaining compliance while effectively reducing the risk of occupational health and safety injuries and illnesses.
• Protect the company’s financial interest and mitigate risk associated with safety and security in and around the facility.
• Oversee Workers Compensation program coordination including our return to work program. Accident investigation process, ensuring utilization of effective tools to perform root cause analysis, implement an effective action plan program to reduce the risk of similar future incidents. Develop and administer effective tools to monitor trends and help operational management understand as to better align future resources, in an effort to develop a better prevention program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of Safety Leadership experience in a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment
• OSHA 30 hour certification required
• CSP preferred but not required
• Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
• Computer skills required; Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to work flexible and on-call hours
