POSITION SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a Head Cashier to join our team at City Mill. Head Cashiers are responsible for overseeing a team of cashiers, maintaining cash registers and assisting customers with purchases, refunds, exchanges, and other related needs.
Head Cashiers must have excellent communication skills; they must be able to problem solve, pay attention to detail, work well as a part of a team, and have good leadership skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greets and assists all customers with their purchases in an expeditious and courteous manner
- Answers incoming calls to the store and articulates the proper information to the customer.
- Operate a cash register to enter purchases, exchanges, and refunds
- Assures maintenance of cart retrieval program and required documentation.
- Handle customer complaints, cashier issues and act as the communicator between floor staff and management.
- Ensure all cashiers are adhering to company policies, procedures and protocols
- Cleans and stocks Front End areas, including own register
- Provide excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and suggestive selling techniques; answers phones and pages promptly and courteously.
- Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One (1) year supervisory experience preferred
- Two (2) years cashiering experience preferred
- Two (2) years customer service experience required
- Excelled in a customer service position for twelve (12) continuous months within a hardware or home improvement retail setting ideal
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
