Position Overview: The Fleet Tire Technician is 1 of 2 Fleet Tire Technician positions located within Fleet Mobility Services Department. The position reports to an Inventory Control II Supervisor.
The position is responsible for mounting and dismounting tires ranging from medium to heavy trucks. the position is also responsible for the delivery of tires and scraps to various Fleet Mobility Service Centers throughout Austin.
There is currently 1 vacancy for this posting, however, when the same or any additional vacancy occurs within the same job title within 90 days after the start date of the top candidate the hiring department may offer the additional position to another top candidate from the same candidate pool, or advertise for the new position.

Inspects and diagnoses damaged tires, identifies cause of tire failure, and determines if failure is due to recall or is covered under warranty. Repairs and/or disposes of used tires, as appropriate. Collects and transports new and used tires between various locations.. Maintains used tire inventory records. Mounts and dismounts tires on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment. Performs air pressure tire checks in field at various site locations. Performs daily housekeeping at shop and field sites.
