Position Description:
This IT Application Analyst position will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users. The position will diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, will performing system and software installations, updates, and patches. The position will document support requests using the ServiceNow ticket management system. The position Will provide training and guidance to end users, will maintain the IT asset management system for the department, and will support, and maintain the departments work order systems. The position will coordinate with the central IT department on projects and advanced support issues.

Criminal Background Investigation:
This position requires a criminal background investigation.
PLEASE NOTE that this is a full time, forty (40) hour per week position.

Travel:
If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
Overtime may be required with or without notice.

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Classification:
This position is classified as NON-EXEMPT.

Additional Information:
This position is an essential position. This means that the Top Candidate who, by virtue of their presence, specialized function or necessary skills, are essential to meeting the business or certain operational needs and are therefore required to report to duty. The position with the Building Services Department is considered an essential employee during the COVID-19 pandemic event and as such is required to continue to report to their normal work location and perform the essentials functions of their position during the COVID-19 pandemic event.

Employees, in Good Standing, who are candidates within the department that the position resides in and who meet the Minimum and Preferred Qualifications (if any) of the Position will be included in the initial interview. Department/division employee must remain in Good Standing through the Top Candidate Selection phase at which time the Good Standing status will be re-verified.

Pay Range
$31.81- $39.76

Hours
Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Hours may vary depending on work demands and business needs.

Evening, weekend, & holiday work may be required to meet business needs.

May be required to work outside the normal hours for business needs and respond to call back.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues across various operating systems
  • Experience providing customer service in a technical support environment
  • Experience working independently and collaborate effectively with team members
  • Experience with Active Directory, user account management, and group policies
  • Experience with common productivity software, such as Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and configure technological solutions
  • Assist in administering, monitoring, and maintaining one or more IT systems
  • Provide support in response to issues to resolve specific technical problems or make changes to systems
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to the development and maintenance of systems
  • Perform bug tracking and quality assurance tasks
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Develop and/or deliver training
  • Create and prepare reports
