The City of Beloit has an exciting employment opportunity as a Building Inspector working under the Community Development Department. This position is responsible for building inspection and related office work in securing compliance with municipal and state codes and regulations governing building construction, existing structures, operation of electrical installations and equipment, zoning and flood plains. Inspection includes residential, commercial, industrial and other buildings and structures, both existing and under construction. The Building Inspector is responsible for the review of plans and enforcement activities to security compliance with building, housing, zoning, flood plain, mobile home codes and other related ordinances. This position requires considerable independent judgement, initiative and responsibility.
