The City of Beloit has an exciting job opportunity in the Community Development Department as the Transit Operations Manager.
Under general direction, this position plans, organizes, oversees, coordinates, and manages the staff and activities of the Transit Operations Division; manages the day-to-day delivery of public transportation services for fixed route, on-demand, paratransit and microtransit services; manages the effective use of Division resources to improve organizational productivity and customer service; provides complex and responsible support to Deputy Community Development Director in areas of expertise; and performs related work as required.
MINMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, planning, transportation or a related field is preferred.
3. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operation of a transit vehicle and satisfactory driving record
4. Five to seven years of progressively responsible supervisory experience with experience in oversight and/or supervision of public transit or other transportation scheduling.
5. Ability to obtain certification or successfully complete training provided by industry partners, such as insurance carriers, Wisconsin Department of Transportation, National Transit Institute, Federal Transit Administration, Transportation Safety Institute, etc.
6. Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered.
