What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Assistant position at City of Bloomington?
The Human Resources Department is looking for an enthusiastic and dependable assistant who wants to jumpstart their career and gain valuable experience. The HR Assistant will support all divisions but primarily recruitment and the front desk.
This list may not include all tasks and/or knowledge which may be expected of the employee, nor does it cover all specific duties which may be required. Other duties may be assigned.
- Process new employee information such as employment forms
- Answer phone calls and greet visitors
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
- Provide clerical and administrative support
- Assist with HR projects
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on exceptional phone and email etiquette.
- Research, fast writing, editing and proof-reading skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google (Word/Excel) applications, and SharePoint.
- Must learn quickly, thrive in an environment with competing demands and quickly changing priorities.
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized.
- Professional, consistent, reliable, proactive.
- Self-motivated, flexible team player with a positive attitude, demonstrate ability to multi-task and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong decision-making skills
- Experience as a Staff Assistant or similar junior HR role is a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
