Pay Range: Pay Range: $44,802.96 to $54,588.06 Annually DOE ($21.54 - $26.24)

Description:

The City of Box Elder is seeking a highly motivated and outgoing individual to fill the position of Marketing and Event Coordinator. This position is responsible for effectively assisting the Marketing and Events Director in leading the City of Box Elder in its missions of retaining, managing, and attracting business and planning community events for the City and the Chamber.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Operational characteristics, services, and activities of a comprehensive events program.
• Marketing skills to prepare programs, target appropriate markets and meet operational needs.
• Graphic design creative experience with knowledge and use of publishing software.
• Strong project management, customer service and relationship building skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to deliver clear, concise information tailored to specific and varied audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
• Advanced skills in Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter. Corporate-level social media marketing experience.
• Create RFP's for potential vendors.
• Coordinate and execute in house events; as well as outside vendors and negotiate contracts.
• Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations.
• Strong project management, customer service, and relationship building skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three years of increasingly responsible experience in marketing, events management, branding or a related field, including four years of project management experience.
• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of South Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
