The Change Management and Engagement Specialist coordinates and leads change and engagement strategies to promote employee development, connection, and inclusion. Manages the supports the overall employee experience with process, system, or departmental changes with the goal of improving productivity and efficiencies.
Change Management and Engagement Specialist: Coordinate and lead change and engagement strategies and plans to maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. Focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures to improve the overall employee experience with the goal improving productivity and efficiencies
- Works closely with departmental and City leadership to identify areas of necessary change and support planning to limit resistance; applies a structured methodology and leads change management activities.
- Assesses, evaluates, and monitors the change impact and completes change management assessments documenting feedback and general environment surrounding changes.
- Creates, develops, implements, and coordinates a change management strategy to ensure effective changes that limit grievances and promote transparency and commitment.
- Identifies, analyzes, and prepares risk mitigation tactics to address resistance to changes and new implementations; creates actionable deliverables change management levers impacting organization success.
- Coordinates efforts with Change Ambassadors, Employee Engagement Committees, HR Partners, and departments to integrate change management and engagement initiatives into project and/or action plans.
- Collaborates with HR’s Training team to develop and facilitate change and engagement training programs.
- Coordinates and facilitates new employee orientation to help acclimate new hires to the organization.
- Performs any and all other trades work as needed or assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, organizational behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, human resources, business /public administration, strategic management or communications field.
- Four (4) years of professional level experience in human resources with a strong focus on change management and/or project management related to organizational change initiatives.
- Master’s degree or higher in a specified field plus two (2) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements
- Associate degree in any field plus six (6) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a non-specified field plus six (6) years of the required experience, will meet the education and experience requirements.
- High school diploma or GED plus eight (8) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- High school diploma or GED plus change management, program management or project management certificate plus seven (7) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Change Management, Project Management, Program Management certifications preferred
- Knowledge of Human Resources and personnel management and support.
- Knowledge of change management strategies to limit resistance and improve acceptance and productivity.
- Knowledge of effective communication skills to resolve grievances and produce effective changes.
- Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to coordinate change management strategies.
- Ability to engage and influence others to move toward a common vision or goal.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals and listen to concerns to mitigate problems.
- Ability to lead and support staff assisting with various City changes.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
Salary : $49,805 - $62,256
