Performs work that oversees a comprehensive summer aquatics programs to include swim team, junior lifeguard, "Learn to Swim" program, summer camp, special events, and open swimming. Work is performed under general supervision of the Aquatics Manager or designee and is reviewed through evaluation of work performed, results achieved, counseling, and frequent discussions.
Salary $16.90
Education and Experience:
Must be 18 years or older.
High School Diploma or equivalent certificate
Verifiable work experience: At least six (6) months of experience as a lifeguard or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience (equal to 6 months).
Valid First Aid and CPR Certification is mandatory at hire and must be current throughout summer camp.
Must pass swimming and rescue skills test (300-yard swim in under 6 minutes, 2:00 minutes treading water, 1:40 minute drill (brick recovery)
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Water Safety Instructor, Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator

Physical Demands
The physical demands involve balancing, crouching, depth perception, far acuity, hearing, repetitive motion, standing, stooping, talking, and walking. May be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work Environment
The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions: no effective protection from the weather. The worker is subject to extreme heat: temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. The employee works in a dynamic environment that requires them to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
