What are the responsibilities and job description for the Library IT Intern position at City of Dubuque?
Under supervision, responds to computer hardware and software questions and issues; and performs related work as assigned. Work assignments are received from the supervisor verbally, in writing or via service tickets. Work may be reviewed and evaluated in progress or upon completion.

· Assist with end-user training and orientation of new computer hardware or software.
· Perform technology related support tasks; technical support and troubleshooting of personal computers and peripherals; setups and installs of new computer hardware, software and related peripherals; and setup and deployment of tablets and smart phones.
· Inform the Lead Application/Network Analyst and Senior Network Administrator of any observed network access problems.
· Record pertinent information about all incidents and resolution in service ticket system.
· Respond to questions and service requests.
· Participate in the City’s intercultural training and program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Working knowledge of the functions of personal computers and related peripherals, computer hardware use, and computer maintenance tasks. Ability to diagnose computer related problems and perform a variety of trouble shooting tasks.
· Knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion.
· Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and directions; perform work recognizing established standards, practices and policies and use resourcefulness and tact in solving problems; maintain confidentiality of sensitive or privileged information; communicate clearly, both orally and in writing; establish effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees; and work under the pressures of meeting schedules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- College level or technical school coursework in computer or management information science, network support and computer troubleshooting or related field; or
- Equivalent education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with a diverse workforce and population.
Working Conditions: Duties require lifting moderately heavy objects on occasion.
