Join our team of dynamic City of Fishers Parks staff this summer by working as a Head Lifeguard at the Geist Waterfront Park. The purpose of this position is to provide an exciting, fun, and safe environment to all residents visiting the park. A Head Lifeguard is responsible for everyday operational tasks at the Geist Waterfront Park. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing a safe environment to residents and visitors by responding to emergencies, maintaining a clean park, and staying up to date on trainings and certifications in addition to training, monitoring, scheduling, and supervising Lifeguards. *Must be 18 years old to be a Head Lifeguard. Start dates for Head Lifeguards will begin in March 2024 so staff can assist with training incoming Lifeguards.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Ensure the safety of all swimmers and waterfront areaDisplay rescue ready behavior at all times while on dutyExhibit professional behavior at all times while on dutyProvide emergency care and treatment as required until EMS arriveAssists in implementing Emergency Action PlansCommunicate effectively with other guards, park staff, supervisors, and other in swimming areasLead service trainingsDocument and report all accidents/incidents to supervisor immediatelyEnsure all hazardous conditions are reported immediatelyLifeguard Supervision/schedulingTrain and monitor lifeguardsDetermine and implement appropriate Lifeguard rotation and zone coverageOther duties as assigned
