JOB DESCRIPTION
This Grade 13, EXEMPT position in the Fleet Department will perform and supervise semi-skilled, skilled, and administrative work in maintaining the City of Globe's vehicles and mechanical equipment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Significant experience in mechanics, maintenance management and supervision of fleet operation or a closely related field
- Knowledge of automotive mechanics, gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, fire pumps and valves, generators, and welding equipment
· Ability to establish and maintain effective preventative maintenance programs, policies and procedures
- Ability to perform, supervise, and direct routine as well as complicated repairs to the City's fleet of vehicles, mechanical, and power equipment
- Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
· ASE Certified Auto Mechanic or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and experience.
- Valid Arizona driver's license (CDL endorsement a pulse)
- Must pass background, drug screen, and physical examination
SALARY RANGE: $45,385 – $50,037 annually depending on experience, (Grade 13, steps 1 -3)
