The full salary range is: $39,046-$55,227. The expected hiring range is $39,046-$40,608 depending on qualifications, with an excellent benefits package. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8 hours per day. Some evenings, weekends, and holidays required.

Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
As a Crew Member of the Specialized Park Services Section, you will participate in a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks within the Specialized Parks Services unit of the Parks and Recreation Department including the installation, maintenance and repair of City owned playground equipment; conducting periodic playground/park safety inspections; portable stage delivery, setup and take down; special event setup and take down to include moving bleachers and installing barricades; fence installation and repair; replace and repair worn sports/playground equipment and moving office furniture.

As a Crew Member, you will be required to work a 40-hour weekly schedule to include holidays and weekends as necessary. You will also be considered "Service Critical" and will be called on to assist with storm damage, special events, and inclement weather conditions. A CDL Class A Driver’s License and North Carolina Pesticides License are required to be obtained within the first year of employment in order to remain in the position. The physical requirements of the job include but are not limited to: lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, kneeling, climbing, bending and/or standing for long periods of time.
This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience with construction trades (i.e. carpentry, equipment operator, fence building, etc.)
- North Carolina Pesticide License Class E & L ("OR" the ability to obtain within 1-year of employment date)
- Valid Class “A” Driver's License (CDL) ("OR" the ability to obtain a CDL permit within 6-months and a Class "A" CDL within 1-year of employment date)
An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior experience using Microsoft Office
- Prior experience with driving excessive-weight vehicles with trailers
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment
- Certification from the National Playground Safety Institute
- Experience Installing Playgrounds
- North Carolina Pesticide License Class E & L ("OR" the ability to obtain within 1-year of employment date)
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
