Hours: Consists of morning shifts (7am - noon) and evening shifts (3pm - 9pm), totaling approximately 25 hours per week.
Salary: Minimum $14.60 hourly; dependent on experience
POSITION SUMMARY
The Golf Cart Attendant works closely with the Golf Assistant and General Manager on the outside golf operations to assure a smooth transition around the club for members and their guests. Primary responsibilities include service to members and guests, efficiency of cart loading, cart cleanliness, staging, and storing.
The Cart Attendant must have excellent listening skills and an eagerness to provide excellent service. Must be flexible in meeting the varying scheduling needs of the Club and may be required to work additional hours than scheduled, if necessary. Cart Attendants must be neat and well-groomed in accordance with the golf club’s standards.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will meet and greet all members and their guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner in accordance with all facility policies and procedures.
Responsible for daily operations of range ball recovery utilizing both mechanical and hand machinery and equipment.
Responsible for the collection of, organization of, and cleanliness of all range baskets used for ball transportation according to policies and procedures established by management.
Helps keep all working areas attractive, neat, clean, and free of trash and waste.
Responsible for washing the range balls to maintain their cleanliness and usability.
Follows procedures for proper opening and closing of the cart and range operations.
Keeps the outside area uncontested, neat, and clean. Does not allow carts to clog passage area; arranges them neatly after having been used.
Inspects the condition of golf carts with specific attention to their cleanliness and appearance.
Responsible for cart cleanliness, cart supplies, cart condition and fueling as well as the rotation of golf carts to ensure uniform usage amongst the fleet.
Assists golf shop personnel in the tournament setup of golf carts and range operations.
Refers all major problems/complaints to a manager and/or assistant manager.
Follows procedures in management of the cart.
Maintains order and continuity of player traffic.
Tracks and reports the need for supplies necessary for day-to-day operations of their given areas.
Performs other duties as required.
Additional Duties:
- Performs general administrative/office duties as required, including typing reports and correspondence, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents, sending and receiving faxes, answering the telephone, etc.
- Continually stays up to date on all policy, procedure, and/or process changes.
- Completes all work accurately, safely, and efficiently.
- Keeps work area clean and safe.
- Maintains any assigned equipment in safe and good operating condition.
- Reports to Supervisor any suggested improvements or areas of concern.
- Ensures professionalism and exceptional customer service during all interactions while performing job representing the City of Greer.
- Exhibits strong ethical standards; ability to create trust and integrity with co-workers, customers, and community.
- Adheres to Employee Handbook and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Maintains regular and sustained attendance.
- Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED
- Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Minimum Age 16.
- Ability to Stand 6-8 Hours.
- A positive attitude while on the job is also essential.
