Hiring Range: $22.26 - $24.52
Starting salary may be adjusted depending on experience.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working in security, patrol, public service, recreation or a related field.
- Must be able to work shift work to include nights, weekends and holiday hours
- Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to obtain/maintain a City of Hoover Driver's Permit
- Ability to pass an extensive background check
Responsibilities
Patrols City parks on an assigned shift as required; inspects and completes reports on all park activities, including recording all incidents of vandalism and misuse of property; sets alarms and locks doors of City buildings after work hours; Issues tickets or warnings to individuals misusing disabled parking areas; turns on field lights for softball and other recreational functions; Delivers reports to Park Board Officials as necessary; provides needed information and demonstrations concerning how to perform certain work tasks to new employees in the same or similar class of positions; keeps immediate supervisor and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems; attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas; responds to citizens' questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner; communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities; performs other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.
