Pay Rate $22.37 - $27.78 hourly
Job Summary
Provides extensive public contact and customer assistance in planning and zoning and neighborhood services for the City. Provides primary support to the Development Director and Building Official with Energov software programming, troubleshooting, and updates.
Essential Job Functions
- Coordinates with the Building Official to provide Energov Support of processes and permitting issues.
- Responsible for training new users to Energov and Blue Beam for plan review.
- Responsible for public information request for the Planning and Community Development Department. and assist with permitting software administration.
- Issues building and construction permits with City permit software as needed.
- Assists in updating zoning map, maintaining City-wide business data base, and uploading monthly reports, updates documents to Department website, and support to other departments with reports as needed.
- Supports Planning and Community Development Department as needed with phone calls, over the counter Energov support, and permit questions.
- Communicates with tact and diplomacy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Regular and timely attendance are required for this position; arrives at work on time and works assigned schedule.

- Skills in proofreading reports and correspondence and maintaining accurate records and filing systems with attention to details.

- Good organizational skills with ability to effectively prioritize work.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office 365 products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle confidential information securely with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with employees at all levels. Ability to be courteous and tactful when under stress or dealing with difficult people.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time and operate standard office equipment.
- Must be diligent, persistent and accountable in seeing tasks and projects through to completion.
- Ability to research, analyze and evaluate and present findings. Ability to create training programs, content and effectively present and facilitate to employees at all levels.
Minimum Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and three years related administrative experience is required.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
Some college, municipal zoning experience, experience with ARC View and building and construction permitting software is preferred.
Previous experience in a municipal government or public agency setting is preferred.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
