The purpose of this job is to assist users with desktop and/or mobile application and equipment issues. Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to networking equipment including printers, and servers. Deploys and maintains computer equipment and software applications. Works with external support on escalated computing issues. Advises users with best practices on using computing equipment and software applications. This is a safety sensitive and/or DOT position. As such, you will be required to participate in random drug testing at the city.

- Completes work orders by troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software and network related problems encountered by end-users of the City network, the Internet, and other computer technology.
- Deploys, configures and maintains computing equipment, printers, other electronics and network connections.
- Supports and implements technologies, processes and equipment that help improve computing work efficiency.
- Configures and installs Windows workstations and Macintosh operating systems in response to the demands of a complex network design.
- Set-up, configures, maintains and repairs mobile systems, devices, and printers; including NetMotion authentication to meet CJIS and FBI requirements.
- Trains end-users on various operating systems, applications and other software usage.
- Resolves issues related to printers and other networked equipment.
- Works with third parties support to resolve issues with applications.
- Support for audio/video of City Council and other city meetings.
- Performs related work as required.
- Subject to recall 24x7.
Must be able to provide services for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of League City’s citizens, and that, City employees must be able to work immediately before, during, or immediately after an emergency.
- Associate's degree in Information Technology from an accredited college. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in Computer Information Systems will be considered.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with Windows, networking and computing concepts, mobile phones; exhibited adaptability with rapid changes in computing technology.
- Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and satisfy Criminal Justice Information Security (CJIS) requirements to enter certain secure City facilities such as the Public Safety Building. This means that the candidate must not have been convicted or put on court-ordered community supervision or probation for a Class B misdemeanor within the last 10 years, or at any time for any offense above the grade of Class B misdemeanor.
