Position Information: * The third level of the Library Series is responsible for performing professional librarian services in accordance with assigned area, and will generally provide supervision to lower level support staff.
The Librarian is distinguished from the Library Specialist in that it performs professional librarian duties. This Librarian position will specialize in the Adult Services Department.
Essential Job Duties
May supervise library support staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
Assists patrons by providing solutions to informational requests and evaluating resources in order to match information needs with reference and/or advisory materials; processes interlibrary loan requests in order to meet the needs of patrons.
Maintains, monitors, and evaluates collections in assigned area of responsibility; recommends additions and removal of collection items.
Participates in maintaining, supporting, and troubleshooting automated library systems.
Develops and facilitates classes/programs related to assigned area of the library.
Oversees the adult literacy program.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Minimum Qualifications
Training and Experience:
Master’s degree in Library Science; and 2-3 years of professional library work experience, including some supervisory experience.

Pay: $65,880.00 - $88,944.00 per year
