The Visitors Services Marketing Manager position is responsible for all program management and execution of marketing efforts and promotion of Visit Loveland’s tourism marketing initiatives for domestic and international travelers, conventions, leisure travel and industry audiences in order to stimulate the growth and economic impact of tourism in Loveland. This role is vital to the highly collaborative team that measures success through increasing Loveland’s hotel occupancy and visitor spending, resulting in related guest-tax revenues that benefit the residents and businesses of Loveland. Visit Loveland is the official destination marketing organization for Loveland, and is a division within the City of Loveland’s Economic Development department. This position reports to the Visitor Services Manager.
The hiring range of this position is $65,000 - $85,000, per year, depending on qualifications and experience. First Reading of Applications on: October 14, 2022.
Visit Loveland is looking for a self-directed, motivated team member who takes initiative and is passionate about Loveland and visitors services. This individual is the manager of strategizing, creation and implementation of effective and engaging content for social media, website, email, digital applications and marketing. Is responsible to formulate and execute successful marketing strategies to promote tourism in Loveland and the region. After 6 months, this position is eligible for telework 2-3 days per week.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for:
- Serves as the brand champion for visit Loveland in all communications.
- Works closely with the Visitors Services Manager to direct and manage marketing partners, including the advertising (and web,) website content and visitor guide.
- Manages and oversees development and implementation of marketing and advertising strategies; seasonal tactical marketing plans.
- Coordinates approval of all creative development, design and layout of all communications materials involved in marketing communication.

Serves as Visit Loveland’s primary social media subject matter expert and administrator, staying on top of trends in information sharing and engagement to continue growing platform presence and engagement with the public through
- Creation of campaign ideas
- Content strategy
- New products and services based on market research and benchmarking.
- Responsible for online community engagement and connections, social listening and responding to online listening and responses.
- Responsible for recommendations on strategy, creation and planning of online social content.
- Manages Visit Loveland’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant
- Optimizes content for search engines.
- Initiates and prepares contracts for marketing, website and print vendors. Negotiates contracts as needed.
- Utilizes analytics to evaluate website traffic
- Develops, tracks and updates the marketing budget including creative development, media planning, and placement; works internally to monitor and report progress on spending approved through the Visitors Services Manager. Provides recommendations to Visitor Services Manager based on trends and forecasts.

Manage, create, develop and edit content, photography, artwork, calendars, video for Visit Loveland including
- Website - update information weekly, oversee online media production, update photos and other content, videos, approve event postings and related listings.
- Visit Loveland e-newsletter - responsible for monthly content development, editing, production, posting for domestic and international distribution.
- Press releases, ads, copy. Coordinate due dates and specs for ads.
- Visit Loveland Annual Visitors Guide and Annual Report. Develop - serve as editor of the publication.
- Create photo and video content/photo editing correction and mock-ups for advertising.
- Attend domestic and international tradeshows and conferences including the Go West Summit, Governors Tourism Conference, Destination International Annual Conference and MIC and MPI Conferences as needed.
- Prospecting to partners, developing itineraries, products of welcome bags and communication with Colorado Tourism Office/Media outlets.
- Correspondence with private sector partners, non-profit agencies, other City departments and state and national partners.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
- Experience with creating and curating content for business media and blogs.
- Experience using a variation of popular social media platforms including experience email campaigns and associated technology commonly used for creating social content.
- Knowledge of website, social analytics tools Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, HTML, content management systems, and any associated technology commonly used for creating marketing content.
- Excellent customer service and phone skills.
- Must handle multiple tasks simultaneously, to think logically and solve problems, work well under pressure, and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
- Presentation formatting, photography, and website experience background Web experience with content management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously
- Flexible and adaptable when facing changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Understand technical product information and convey technical/mechanical concepts
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office

Education and/or experience:
Bachelor’s degree or professional certificate in advertising, marketing, public relations or communication required. An equivalent 4 years combination of education and experience may be used to satisfy the requirement of a bachelor degree. Three (3) years increasingly responsible experience in any of the following developing, planning, marketing, advertising, communication and public information/relation concepts required. IT/Web development, events planning, collaboration, preferred. Must have strong leadership and management skills and the ability to bring the interests of a number of diverse groups into focus around key objectives to attain success. Must work well under pressure and be skilled in relationship building and networking within a diverse industry groups including destination marketing organizations, various industry associations and stakeholder groups throughout the state.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be used to satisfy the requirement of a bachelor degree, or seven (7) years of experience in a related field. Professional Destination Management experience preferred.
Licensure and/or certifications:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
PDM – Professional Destination Management certification preferred

Working conditions and physical requirements:
Typical office environment which requires repetitive motion tasks and bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and light lifting to perform essential functions of the job. Must be able to occasionally leave the area for meetings and delivery of information. Some night meetings are required. Must be able to work well independently. Some travel is required including tradeshows, tourism conferences, etc.
