Job Posting for Seasonal Part-Time Pool Laborer at City of Lubbock

Prepare and clean municipal swimming pools.
  • Vacuum pool, clean decking and scum gutters, pick up litter, clean bathrooms and clean spectator seating area;
  • Tour facility each day to check for safety issues or hazards and report them to the proper personnel;
  • Maintain chemicals and supplies needed to clean and prepare the facility, follow all safety guidelines for handling chemicals;
  • Maintain equipment used in cleaning and preparing the facility, including pool vacuum, hoses, squeegees and other equipment;
  • Maintain records and submit any required reports to the supervisor;
  • Perform related duties as required.
     
Completion of the ninth grade which will provide the following:
 
Valid Current Driver's License
Physical Exam Required
.

Ability to:

  • Learn to operate pool cleaning equipment such as vacuum;
  • Learn and follow safety procedures;
  • Maintain written records.
Physical Requirements 
  • Continuously lift and carry up to 25 pounds;
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds;
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds;
  • Frequently walk and stand during the shift;
  • Frequently push and pull objects in order to clean pool;
  • Frequently flex upper trunk forward and at the waist and partially flexing of knees;
  • Occasionally rotate upper trunk to the right or left or forward while sitting or standing;
  • Place arms above, at or below shoulder height;
  • Coordinate eye, hand and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle.
