Job Summary:
Responsible for executing repairs, trouble shooting and preventative maintenance on a variety of electrical systems including: lighting, voice and data, power distribution, panel boards, HVAC, power supply, motors, drives, and manufacturing equipment.
Summary of duties:
- Lead the inspection of electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with MN state codes.
- Mentor, coach, and provide work direction to others as their assignments relate to electrical work.
- Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to plan, layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Determine type and cost of materials required for projects, ensure specifications and drawings are accurate.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Test and troubleshoot electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
- Execute maintenance schedules, record findings, and ensure safe and reliable operations of electrical systems and equipment.
- Maintain records of repairs made, inform leadership of issues that arise, and offer recommendations for resolution.
- Must be able to work off a scissor lift, aerial lift, and ladder.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must exhibit the ability to work collaboratively and with a positive attitude toward team members, supervisors, and other team leaders.
- Must be able communicate effectively, professionally and successfully interact with company department leaders, supervisors, employees, engineers and vendors.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have completed an advanced electrician’s training program and/or an electrical engineering program and have completed an electrical journeyman’s apprenticeship program.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Minnesota Master Electrician’s License.
- Must be able to read and understand commercial building blue prints and basic commercial wiring methods.
- Must possess the ability to install EMT conduit, MC style cabling, and install large commercial electrical services, tap cans and transformers.
