Job responsibilities include working to plan and schedule swim teams, lessons, and camps; hiring, instructing, and managing staff to exceed NSPF, Red Cross, and other pool safety standards; working with staff, volunteers, and contracted employees to open the pool on time and to the highest degree of safety.
Daily operations and requirements of the Pool Manager include routine facility maintenance, administering chemical and mechanical cleaning methods to ensure safe water quality, enforcing rules through staff interaction, safe cash handling procedures, customer service and dispute resolution, admissions and concessions stand operations, and maintaining a safe pool environment.
High School diploma or GED; supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in lifeguarding, aquatics instruction or related field; or other equivalent combination of education and experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Must possess and maintain the following certifications: NSPF Pool Operator, Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED/Lifeguarding, ServSafe Food Manager
May be required to possess additional certification(s) as deemed necessary by the City.
Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver's license.
Must be at least 18 years of age
A swim test will be required to maintain employment.
