What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crossing Guard position at City of Mason City?
Provide assistance for students to safely cross the streets to/from school.
- Responsible for stopping all traffic to allow pedestrian traffic to cross streets neighboring the designated school.
- Walk with students across the street while ensuring all traffic remains stopped.
- Signal to drivers when it is again safe for them to resume travel.
- Must be able to follow and understand safety rules and regulations.
- Attends work regularly at the designated time and place.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school or GED from an accredited institution of higher learning.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- No felony convictions or other disqualifying criminal or civil record.
- Skill in operating the listed tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform job responsibilities in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public; ability to communicate effectively verbally and non-verbally.
