The City of Murphy Recreation Division seeks to add a Part-Time Recreation Specialist to provide numerous forms of customer service at the Murphy Community Center and Murphy Activity Center. Duties include registering citizens for classes, camps and activities; registering citizens for memberships, reservations and rentals; assisting in opening and closing duties; and maintaining recreation facilities, all while modeling our core values of Murphy P.R.I.D.E.

Schedule Commitment
The standard work hours for this position are 4-9pm during the week. Must have the ability to work Saturdays.
Pay Plan
The pay plan range below is shown to represent opportunities for salary growth within this opportunity. We are seeking to hire between the Min to Mid range of the pay grade shown dependent upon qualifications.
Min $14.96
Mid $17.95
Max $20.95

Eligibility
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or ability to obtain a High School Diploma or GED within 6 months of hire
- Valid State of Texas class C driver’s license
- CPR/First Aid Training
- Associate’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education or related field or one (1) year work experience in recreation or related field
- Experience with recreation software
- Must have a general understanding of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
- Must be a creative self-starter who can work independently or in a group setting
- A great deal of diplomacy is required in daily interactions with members of the public - must maintain an effective and pleasant working relationship with citizens, the general public, employees, and volunteers
Meet the Team
The part-time Recreation Specialist reports directly to the Recreation Manager and will work alongside four other part-time Specialists, 2 full-time Specialists, and a Special Events Coordinator.
Salary : $15 - $18
