What are the responsibilities and job description for the Library Page position at City of New London?
The Page maintains shelves by organizing, shelving and re-shelving materials in order. This includes shifting, straightening, shelf reading, cleaning, and repairing, as necessary.
Summer work hours are two days a week between 3:00-7:00 pm. Non-summer work hours are two days a week between 4:00-7:00 pm. Will also work two Saturdays a month from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, for an average of 10-12 hours total per week.
Wage is $10.50 per hour

· Arrange returned materials on book trucks and re-shelve them in proper order.
· Routinely clean, straighten and read shelves; assist with shifting; move materials, furniture and equipment as needed.
· Refer non-directional questions to appropriate staff member.
· Prepare materials/crafts for story times.
· Complete special projects as assigned.
· Must be at least 14 years of age.· Ability to sort efficiently in alphanumeric order, and to develop a working knowledge of the Dewey Decimal system.
· Ability to handle detail with accuracy and speed.
Physical Capacities:
· Constant standing and walking; occasional sitting.
· Bending stooping, climbing
· Lifting 50 pounds or less; pushing, pulling up to 100 pounds.
