SSNL Engineering Aide
This position provides hands on experience with the City of Oshkosh Engineering Division in the areas of surveying, construction management, and a wide variety of other Civil Engineering related areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Standard office machines and equipment such as: personal computers, printers, telephone, fax machine, calculator, copier and MS Office Suite software as well as a variety of large and small equipment including tools, lawn maintenance equipment, and small tractors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described in this position description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, climb, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift 40 pounds and will at times be required to perform moderate to heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions, wild animals, fumes, airborne particles and toxic chemicals. They be subject to inclement weather and/or weather extremes during the discharge of responsibilities. The employee occasionally works near moving objects and is occasionally exposed to risk of loud noises. Working conditions contain moderate risks which require planned safety precautions for limited periods of time.

- Work on survey crews.
- Perform construction inspection.
- Maintain GIS record systems.
- Provide general information to the public and assist them with their concerns and complaints when possible.
- Provide friendly, reliable, positive customer service.
- Report to work at scheduled time with reliable and predictable attendance.
- Report any concerns or violations of City of Oshkosh rules/regulations to supervisor.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the City’s Safety Policy and Procedures as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all applicable regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- First Aid and CPR training are desirable.
- Valid driver’s license.
