The City of Rancho Cordova is offering a unique position for a Management Analyst to join the City Manager's Office. In this role you will have the opportunity to staff and support special projects, collaborate with city staff and other agencies to analyze programs, grants, and city-wide performance, research and apply for grants and awards, and support a wide range of programs and public meetings.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Provide responsible professional-level comprehensive analysis, management, financial, operational, or administrative system assistance in the development, administration, and implementation of City programs. Positions may be assigned to provide assistance in a variety of subject and project areas for city departments.
This position will be filled at one of the following two levels, based on the qualifications of the selected candidate: |
Management Analyst I - Salary range: $78,967 - $96,403
This is the entry-level classification in the management analyst series. Incumbents provide entry-level professional support and initially receive close supervision in the performance of their duties.
Management Analyst II - Salary range: $86,864 - $108,043
This is the journey-level classification in the management analyst series. Incumbents perform journey-level professional support and exercise independent judgment in the performance of their duties. Responsibilities may include the direct or indirect supervision of technical and administrative support personnel, consultants, and volunteers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES: Any combination of education and experience that will provide the ability to perform the work and provide the performance results as stated above. For instance, two (2) years of directly related job experience may be substituted for each one (1) year of education listed below. A typical way of gaining the experience and education would be:
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Management Analyst I - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university with major course work in public or business administration or a related field.
Management Analyst II – Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university with major work in public and business administration, economics, finance, or a closely related field. A Master’s Degree is desirable.
EXPERIENCE:
Management Analyst I - Two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience preferably in municipal government, including experience in budget, strategic planning, policy analysis, organizational development, economic development, and/or personnel. A Master's degree in one of the above or related fields may substitute for one (1) year of work experience.
Management Analyst II - Two (2) years of responsible professional level experience performing duties similar to that of a Management Analyst I with the City of Rancho Cordova. Must have advanced level skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Requires possession of a current valid California Class C driver's license and a satisfactory driving record as determined by the City.
Requires the mobility and manual dexterity to work in a standard office environment, use standard office equipment and attend off-site meetings; speech and hearing to communicate in person and by telephone; vision to read handwritten and printed materials and a computer screen; strength and agility to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
