What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Ice Rink Attendant position at City of Roseville?
The City of Roseville is seeking Ice Rink Attendants for the winter season. Attendants wll monitor park warming buildings; assist with building clean up and occasional snow removal. The ideal candidate has employment experience and a track record of responsibility and reliability.
Rink attendants schedules will vary based on their availability, and the number of hours they request (between 5 and 30 hours per week) - but some night and weekend shifts will be required of each employee. Attendants will be allowed to do homework or read during down time, and will be allowed to skate with patrons during certain portions of their shift.
All Rink Attendants will receive complete training in mid December and the skating season runs late December through early February. Attendants will have the opportunity to work extra hours around the holidays.
This position works under the supervision of the Recreation Program Supervisor or designee. The Outdoor Rink Attendant has continuous public contact requiring tact, courtesy and good judgment.

All Rink Attendants will receive complete training in mid-December and the skating season runs December 18th through mid-February. Attendants will have the opportunity to work extra hours between December 18th and January 3rd.
- Open and warming buildings as scheduled
- Monitor warming building and skating rinks to ensure that all users are follow City of Roseville rules
- Clean park building at the conclusion of each shift and as is needed during your shift
- Be a friendly, welcoming presence for community members who are using the park buildings
- Assist skaters with snow removal from rink when needed
- Assist building renters with event set up/clean up as is needed
- Remove snow from building patio and walk up as needed
- The ability to work in a responsible manner in an unsupervised setting
- Ability to interact with park patrons in a friendly, courteous manner
- Willingness to intervene if a patron is not following city policy
- Must be reliable
- Must be available to work weekends as needed
- Must check their e-mail and respond as needed multiple times per week
- Must be willing to learn basic first aid skills and apply them as needed at neighborhood rinks
- Employment experience with a track record of reliability and responsible behavior
- Previous first aid experience
- Customer service experience
- High School Degree or equivalent
May also operate other equipment as directed by the Supervisor.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet or cold conditions.
