SUMMARY Performs a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks in the custodial care and maintenance of Howard Park.
Pay Rate: $15.00 Hourly
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list represents the types of duties required by the position. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably expected. • Be able to communicate with the public as needed, good customer service. • Sets up and tear down equipment, tables, and chairs, for events and rentals at Howard Park Event Center. • Assist front desk as needed throughout the event. • Read seating diagrams and prioritize set up schedule. • Sweeps, vacuums, mops, dusts, strips, waxes, polishes, and buffs floors, carpets, furniture, etc. • Cleans and sanitizes all rooms, areas, and items in various facilities. • Picks up litter from the grounds and around buildings. • Loads/unloads, stocks, inventories, organizes, and/or distributes supplies and equipment to/from various sites. • Maintains clean and safe work areas, tools, and equipment. • Inspects condition and cleanliness of facilities; prioritizes cleaning based on facility usage and custodial standards. • Keeps and submits daily records to supervisor of completed work. • Opens and closes, locks and unlocks, arms and disarms facilities as needed.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner. REQUIREMENTS • High School Diploma or equivalent education required. • At least one year of experience/training in a customer service position, and custodial or maintenance position preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED • Working knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in building and grounds maintenance. • Ability to interact with and assist customers and co-workers and maintain positive and ongoing working relationships. • High quality of cleaning. • Ability to work independently and to complete daily tasks on a priority basis and according to assignment schedule. • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. • Ability to communicate orally and in writing. • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. • Ability to alter work schedule upon request from head custodian.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATION • Valid Driver’s License required.
EQUIPMENT Auto scrubber, vacuum cleaner, broom, mop, dusting equipment, snow blower, snow shovel. Hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, and vice grips. Vehicles such as trucks and cars.
