Under direction of Rec Center Manager and/or regular maintenance employees, provide customer service, custodial, equipment, facility, and grounds maintenance services, in a manner which ensures efficient operations and provides a safe atmosphere for Rec Center and Aquatic Park visitors.
This position will work from May through October and will work 20 to 30 hours per week between 7am-3pm, Monday through Sunday (days will vary depending on coverage needed.)
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
This position is eligible for a retention bonus: Employees in this position will earn an additional 50 cents/hour for each hour worked during the season (March-November) if they work a minimum of 320 hours and meet performance requirements.
Provide pool maintenance services including but not limited to: pressure spraying pool and concession deck, vacuuming pool, cleaning equipment, weeding planting areas, raking sand play area, picking up trash on pool deck and picnic area.
Provide grounds maintenance services including but not limited to: lawn mowing and trimming, trash pick-up, weed pulling, concrete area cleaning.
Assist full-time staff with facility operations during assigned shifts, providing customer service assistance and maintaining a safe and clean welcoming friendly environment.
Provide building custodial maintenance services including but not limited to cleaning restrooms and locker rooms, sweeping, and mopping floors, vacuuming, window washing, trash pick-up and removal, washing walls.
Set up meeting and banquet rooms as per schedule.
Resurface and edge ice sheets as per schedule.
Provide skate sharpening and skate rental service as required.
Assist crowd control during facility events.
May monitor building and pool mechanical equipment as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Valid MN driver’s license.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city's strategic objectives for racial equity.
Previous experience:
Working in a public setting.
With equipment operation.
With light maintenance and/or custodial maintenance.
Salary : $16 - $19
