Description
Accepts and processes online applications for building permits; assists with the assignment and tracking of code enforcement cases; manages the scheduling of building inspections; answers phone calls and walk-in customer questions regarding the building permitting, inspections and code enforcement processes.
Qualifications
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of municipal permit clerk, technician experience or building construction experience, or equivalent.
- OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES REQUIRED:
- Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License
CERTIFICATES/LICENCES DESIRED:
- Notary Public Certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- ICC Permit Technician certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Applicants with at least two (2) years of municipal permit clerk, technician experience, building construction experience or related experience and hold an ICC Permit Technician Certification will be considered for a Permit Technician II placement, with a hiring salary of $18.82 - $22.14/hour.
