What are the responsibilities and job description for the Firefighters - Full Time position at City of Tomball?
The City of Tomball is accepting applications for the positions of full-time Fire Fighters. These positions participate in fire suppression, prevention, public education and rescue activities in protecting life, property and the environment, and provide first aid response to medical emergencies. This testing process will be utilized to establish an eligibility list for full-time firefighter positions (good for 1 year with an option to extend).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a Basic (or higher) Fire Fighter certification by Texas Commission on Fire Protection or a Firefighter I and II IFSAC Seal
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Must have completed NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800
- Must possess and maintain throughout employment a Texas Department of State Health Services or National Registry EMT certification or higher
- Shall possess a valid Class C Texas motor vehicle operator's license. (Must obtain a Class B license within 1 year of employment)
- Must successfully pass a physical agility test and oral interview board
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical exam, background check, and drug screen

SALARY:
$18.80 per hour (Approximately $56,663 per year including overtime on a 48 on/96 off schedule and is based on a 53 hour work week.)
Test:
- Location: 1200 Rudel Rd. Tomball, TX (Tomball Fire Station 1)
- Physical Agility Dates: April 24 & 26, 2023
- Bring clothes to be used during Physical Agility Test (weather appropriate)
- Interviews: April 24 & 26 after the Physical Agility Test.
