The City of Topeka's Utilities department is seeking a hard-working individual to serve as a Collection Systems Operator in the Water Pollution Control division. This is an entry-level position with opportunity for advancement that offers training, stability, and excellent benefits in an interesting and challenging work environment.
This position will receive training and assistance on company-paid time to obtain a class A Kansas commercial driver's license (CDL), which is required by the conclusion of six months of employment
What you'll do:
- Operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on a wide variety of heavy equipment.
- Respond to and assist with Utility-related calls such as overflows and blockages.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on wastewater and storm water collection systems, flood control assets and facilities.
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas drivers license and meet City insurability guidelines. Please review the Insurability Guidelines.
Entry rate of pay: $19.67 to 20.24 per hour DOQ
