This is advanced administrative work within the Park and Recreation Department, involving supervision of clerical staff and delegation of specific administrative tasks, clerical processes, and basic research. Workdays & Hours - Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. For special events you may be required to work outside of the regular office hours that could include evenings, but hours worked will not exceed 40 hours a week.

- Conducts research and statistical basic analysis.
- Evaluates and provides recommendations for the resolution of internal and interdepartmental problems.
- Gathers and develops budget data for preparation of the annual budget.
- Responds to routine correspondence from citizens requesting information.
- Represents work unit at meetings with outside groups to exchange ideas and information.
- Analyzes and evaluates information, developing alternatives and formulating recommendations.
- Conducts management analysis of a minor nature related to operations and organization and presents findings.
- Analyzes financial reports and information, performs reconciliations and may prepare schedules and reports from other source data.
- May plan, delegate, and evaluate the work of others.
- May assume responsibilities of supervisor in his/her absence.
- Completion of work assignments may require the operation of a vehicle.

- Knowledge of standard computer keyboard configurations and ability to access, interpret, and record information through use of a video display terminal and electronic keyboard.
- Knowledge of, and ability to engage in, use of computer keyboard and video display monitor in electronic spreadsheet development, using basic mathematical and descriptive statistical operations.
- Knowledge of research techniques, sources of information and statistical procedures.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize and supervise the work of others.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, and the public.
- May require the ability to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license.

Required Experience and Training
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3 years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience.
- 1 year of experience managing multiple complex tasks, such as preparing reports and managing timelines.
- Proficiency in using office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
- Must have a valid Kansas driver's license.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.
- Attainment of passing scores on pre-employment tests.
