General Definition of Work
Performs intermediate skilled trades work maintaining pools in swim centers, water play areas, splash pads, and ornamental water fountains, documenting water chemicals used and levels, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Pool Maintenance Coordinator.

Performs skilled work in the maintenance and repair of the City's swimming pools and related facilities.
Essential Functions
- Repairs mechanical equipment in filtration room; repairs any structural damage to pool decking, fencing, pool plaster, drain covers guttering and skimmer systems; performs maintenance work for all pool maintenance equipment.
- Performs testing of the water chemistry at public swim centers, splash pads and ornamental water fountains; audits, and transports of pool chemicals; reviews, documents and logs all pool chemical data; reviews public health codes for updates on new safety pool standards for water chlorination and disinfecting.
- Assists with the process of closing and winterizing of all public swim centers, splash pads and ornamental water fountains.
- Inspects swim center facility and perimeter daily for safety issues, vandalism and proper operation of filtration equipment.
- Maintains and cares for tools and equipment.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with plumbing, pumps, motors, and piping designs, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements
Valid driver's license upon hire.
Possession or ability to obtain a valid Certified Pool Operator certification from the National Swimming Pool Foundation within six months of employment is required.
