We are looking for someone to join Team Yuma as a Video Analyst, working with the City of Yuma Police Department. The ideal candidate will review, copy and redact digital footage from body-worn cameras.
Under basic supervision, provides support for Digital Evidence Unit operations for the Yuma Police Department (YPD); reviews, copies, and redacts digital footage to ensure compliance with state laws and YPD policies.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Review digital media; enters relative data into YPD database and maintains statistics.
- Creates copies of digital media for official department business to include public records requests, copies for prosecutorial processes, internal reviews, redacting, etc.
- Maintains and troubleshoots the body-worn camera (BWC) and in-car video units.
- Repairs or replaces BWC and in-car components (cameras, docking stations, etc.).
- Trains officers on current policy and the proper use of BWC and in-car video units.
- Trains and provides technology support for BWC and in-car video equipment.
- Coordinates with IT regarding Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS) related issues.
- Redacts digital media for distribution to the courts, media and public to comply with discovery mandates, subpoenas and local, state and federal laws.
- Testifies and presents evidence in court as needed.
- Enters relative data into YPD database, and maintains statistics.
- Prepares comprehensive reports.
- Supports the relationship between the City and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and City staff; promotes the City goals and priorities, vision, values and the “Yuma Way”, and complies with all City policies and procedures.
- Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues and City information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
High School diploma or GED; and one year of customer service and computer software experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience in a law enforcement environment is preferred. Must pass a polygraph and background check.
Knowledge of:

- Principles of adult learning, teaching and presentation skills
- Basic accounting, bookkeeping and record-keeping methods and procedures.

- Maintaining accurate records and generating special and periodic reports.

- Operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software.
- Constructing detailed, well-structured reports.
- Critical thinking and advanced problem solving techniques.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid Arizona State Driver's License is required. Additional technical training and certifications may be required for some incumbents, including Arizona/National Crime Information Centers (ACIC/NCIC).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard office environment with prolonged work hours in front of a computer. Required to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects.
