What are the responsibilities and job description for the Video Host - Automotive position at CJ Pony Parts?
CJ Pony Parts is looking for a passionate, full-time Video Host for our CJ Classic Truck channel. In this role, you will be responsible for hosting mechanical installation videos along with resource and social videos covering Ford F100, Chevrolet C-10, and Classic Bronco. You must be able to handle mechanical installations on your own and successfully explain the concept to our customers on camera. A successful Video Host will be someone who is an enthusiast at heart and lives and breaths classic trucks!
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Host social and mechanical installation videos for CJ Classic Truck channel.
- Maintain a working knowledge of classic truck parts and what is popular at any given time.
- Have enthusiasm and a passion for classic trucks and the industry and convey that through video.
- Ability to have a genuine presence on camera and not speak from script.
- Ability to work well with the other members of the department. This includes, but is not limited to: handling feedback professionally, offering ideas to improve over all quality, and working together on installs and social videos.
Requirements:
- Hands-on mechanical experience is a must, restoration experience a bonus.
- Must be familiar with automotive parts and their installation.
- Must be comfortable on camera.
- Must have basic set of hand tools.
- Clean driver's license.
- Strong communication and time management skills, must be a self-starter.
- Ability to perform under tight deadlines with high volume.
- Capable of handling (moving, lifting) different types of high end items of up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Job Specifications:
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent from a college or technical school preferred.
- Experience: 3 years of related automotive mechanical experience and some on-camera, hosting, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience within the automotive industry and/or eCommerce preferred.
- Specific Skills: Ability to work independently and manage time responsibly. Able to handle multiple projects at any given time. Able to follow project assignments/timelines and provide updates on progress. Ability to consult with internal/external customers to understand their video needs. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations. Automotive industry knowledge or interest (restoration, performance, aftermarket parts).
