What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher (full-time) position at CJE SeniorLife?
Wednesday through Sunday, 10:30 am to 7:00 pm
$17.47 per hour, shift differential of $0.75 per hour after 3:00 pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Associate must pass Illinois Food Handler Course within 60 days of hire. Three attempts will be provided to pass this course within the first 60 days of hire. In the event that the associate does not pass the course termination will be pursued. This certification must be maintained throughout the course of employment.
Education And/or Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand on a tile floor for extended hours and maneuver independently and safely around work area. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher and to manipulate kitchen equipment, including slicer, chopper, processor, knives, etc.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must meet state and local health requirements for food handlers. Must possess valid food handlers permit.

- Complies with all state and local health codes for food handling.
- Adheres to the personal hygiene policy.
- Attends all required training, in services, and staff meetings.
- Meets all department training standards through regulatory training and/or other necessary training modules as required.
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors, and coworkers.
- Follows safety precautions to prevent accidents in food preparation according to CJE SeniorLife’s accident prevention in food preparation and prevention of back injury policies.
- Affects budgets by avoiding waste of products and time.
- Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
- Utility worker or dishwasher:
- Maintains the sanitary condition of dishes, utensils, glasses, pots, pans, equipment, and kitchen in accordance with CJE SeniorLife standards.
- Safely and efficiently operates dish washing machine according to procedure manual.
- Ensures proper soap and rinse chemicals are loaded for washing.
- Removes from service any dishes, utensils, and glassware that are damaged or broken.
- Stocks delivered food and non-food items.
- Keeps stock rooms, coolers, and freezers clean and ensures that food supply stocks are rotated, all perishables are covered, labeled, dated, and stored properly.
- Empties and clears garbage bins and breaks down boxes.
- Washs all carts and garbage bins.
- Deep cleaning of kitchen floors, walls, and equipment.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment.
- Ensures equipment temperature maintenance.
- Complies with safety policies and procedures.
- Adheres to laws regarding the protection, use, disclosure, and release of client and CJE business information.
- Attends required in services.
- Reports violations of law, regulations, policies, or procedures.
- Reports client abuse or neglect.
- Records documentation timely, accurately, and completely.
- This position has responsibility for HIPAA compliance.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens is not likely to occur in this position.
