Altura is actively seeking a Finance Manager who will help drive our strategic goals, by taking ownership of critical financial functions and serving as an important business partner to our senior team and to our technical and operations teams. The basic accounting, tax and payroll processes are handled by our corporate services partners, and this position will work with those teams and other stakeholders to manage our business unit financial performance, optimize internal processes and support growth initiatives. The ideal candidate can demonstrate success in partnering with diverse stakeholders to achieve strategic and financial objectives. Candidates are also expected to be familiar with the accounting, invoicing and financial reporting practices of professional services firms, ideally in the A/E/C industry. Familiarity with the software packages SAP, Coupa, Salesforce and Kantata (formerly Kimble/Mavenlink) is a plus. Scope & Responsibilities: Advise on strategies and actions to optimize financial performance and provide insights to leadership. Coordinate and strategize with teams to improve project efficiency and profitability Collaborate with project management and business development teams to identify, measure, and control key performance indicators. Review portfolio and actively communicate risks and opportunities while providing actionable management insights Manage project risks such as productivity delays (negotiate change orders) Perform market research into competitor pricing to better define rack rates Leverage lessons learned from other projects to inform future pricing Liaise with the corporate accounting, financial planning & analysis, treasury and tax teams; collaborate to prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses. Manage and continuously improve internal financial processes, primarily revenue recognition, A/P, A/R, and budgeting/forecasting. Drive special projects (examples include analyzing bill rates and margins periodically to identify opportunities, and analyzing bonus pool assumptions and policies) The job will be hybrid with 3 days in Newport Beach, CA office Required Qualifications: Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial systems 7 years of professional experience working in a finance, accounting or operations role Demonstrated impact on collaborating with internal teams to drive operational or commercial enhancements in a professional services setting Exemplary attention-to detail and problem-solving skills Outstanding professional communication skills Savvy user of software tools for analysis and reporting Familiarity with management systems deployed in high growth environments Driven self-starter who proactively identifies opportunities for improvement Desired Qualifications: Experience working in a financial management function for an engineering consulting or similar professional services company Experience working with software company financial models, including SaaS subscription models High proficiency in the software application used in our business, including SAP, Salesforce, Coupa, and Kantata (formerly Kimble/Mavenlink) About Altura Altura is proud to offer a generous total compensation package that includes base salary, bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefit package that includes health benefits (medical and dental plans), paid time off (vacation, sick and holiday), financial benefits (retirement plan with both match and annual company contribution, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and commuter benefits).
