Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is accepting application for a Welder to join our team. Qualifications: 2 years' experience operating as a construction/bridge welder. Current and valid certification for ¾” and lower required. AWS D1.1 and D1.5 certification preferred, or the practical field knowledge to obtain certificates. Knowledge of construction site best practices and safety procedure. Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening. Valid drivers license with clean driving record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 5 years.) preferred. Responsibilities: Operator angle grinders and other small tools to prepare parts for welding. Read and interpret standard welding notations. Select proper materials, measure and cut to specifications. Field - Field install welds, including weld pile, bearings, SIP decking and other bridge structural elements. Shop – Fabricate and repair buckets, blades, trench boxes, vehicle parts, and specialized tools. Select proper fillers for jobs based on previous experience or project instructions. Coordinate with field and/or shop for required schedule of repairs. Operator welding truck and maintains the materials, tools and equipment on the truck.
