SUMMARY: Supervises of janitorial employees in a business environment: implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, organizes and directs work from janitorial personnel to ensure work quality and productivity.
- General Manager, Lead Supervisor and janitorial personnel to ensure customer service issues and operational customer complaints are resolved to satisfaction.
- Ensures that employees have the required safety training and are consistently working in a safe manner; implements safety programs to reduce accidents and injuries.
- Provides leadership, communication, and coaching to employees; cultivates a motivated employee environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and business ownership.
- Ensures that operational supplies are on hand and available at all times.
- Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises employees within the Janitorial department(s).
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of janitorial experience with 1 of them in a supervisory position.
- Demonstrated ability in supervising and motivating subordinates
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Good oral communication skills
- Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing
