Clear Labs is seeking an experienced and driven Buyer/Planner II who can work on challenges of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation and implementation of various solutions to join our dynamic and fast-paced start-up company. The successful candidate will handle the entire process of procurement of a wide variety of commodities, materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate bids, negotiate pricing, and award purchase orders to support manufacturing and service material requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with distributors and suppliers, including resolution of commercial issues.
- Manage supplier performance and compliance with delivery schedules, quality, and cost, develop new supply sources where performance is inadequate.
- Understand forecasting to plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle to ensure stocking levels are maintained.
- Work with suppliers on returns of non-conforming materials.
- Review Engineering Change Orders timely, forward information to suppliers as required.
- Work directly between engineering, planning, and manufacturing to coordinate efforts in support of material designs, new product introductions, and sourcing decisions.
- Prepare purchasing metric data for weekly, including purchase orders placed, past due purchase orders, and cost reductions.
- Participate in special projects such as assessment of the supplier base, cost reduction initiatives, and company-wide audits.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of proven work experience in Procurement or similar role
- Bachelor's degree is required, with an emphasis in Business or Accounting preferred
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Hands-on experience with purchasing software and ERP tools (Netsuite experience a plus)
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding and experience working in an ISO Quality environment
- Must be able to Travel to supplier periodically
