- Experience with primary cell culture and proliferation and differentiation assays
- Experience with RNA and DAN isolation and qPCR, protein isolation, Western Blotting procedures, Flow Cytometry, ELISA and molecular cloning.
- Familiarity with histology and immunohistochemistry techniques would be considered an asset.
JOB DUTIES:
35% - Essential - Communication and Training:
Plans, performs, and/or supervises the performance of procedures in the immunology laboratory. Consults, instructs, and supervises personnel using the lab. Schedules and supervises equipment usage.
20% - Essential - Reporting and Compliance:
Prepares reports of results, descriptions of methods. Prepares billing rates and ensure invoices are mailed. Keep descriptions of methods and brochure/website information updated. Trains undergraduate and graduate students and others as necessary in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), equipment use and laboratory safety. Collaborate writing methods for journal articles.
20% - Essential - Special projects:
Assists with animal trials, sample collection and research projects. Performs other tasks as needed by the supervisor.
15% - Essential - Lab Management:
Directs Lab workers or students in the lab. Manages and coordinates the use of the lab and its resources, including equipment, supplies and lab records. Operates, maintains and repairs complex laboratory equipment to ensure sustained service life and optimal machine performance.
10% - Essential - Program development:
Plans and develops projects and research protocols. Develop proficiencies with new techniques and instrumentation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - A bachelor's degree in a related field similar to the assigned area of research and advanced journey-level work experience in a clinical or research setting.
