Our Imaging Administration is looking to add a Director of Radiology Services to their dedicated team. As the Radiology Services Director, you will be at the forefront of decision making and process implementation. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Planning, organizing, directing and controlling radiology and imaging operations.
- Participating in radiology services and operations and cooperating with other disciplines in development of strategic and business plans.
- Promoting and ensuring high quality, customer-responsive radiology services.

Responsibilities:
- Manages all aspects of Radiology and Imaging services, ensuring that all staff, equipment and resources are appropriate to meet the needs of both inpatient and outpatient customers/patients.
- This position has authority to hire, transfer, change responsibilities or discipline and terminate employees within the areas of Radiology Services according to the organization's policies and procedures.
- Selects, develops and counsels employees consistent with good human resource management practices and creates a work environment that allows participation in order to promote retention, productivity, diversity, employee safety and quality.
- Develops and maintains open lines of communication between team members.
- Encourages upward communications by maintaining an open and honest relationship with direct and indirect reports.
- Manages all aspects of the accreditation process.
- Coordinates and maintains a comprehensive quality assurance monitoring program in ensure ongoing quality service.
- Performs continuous review and enhancement to systems and processes/procedures as required by Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies.
- Oversees and maintains departmental accreditation standards for all governing bodies.
- Ensures that Radiology Services adopts a total performance improvement approach to its work that includes employee empowerment, managing with data, a philosophy of continual improvement, a customer-oriented attitude and work methodology that maximizes error prevention.
- Identifies the direct and indirect customers of the areas of responsibility, determining products and services to provide based upon the customers' needs, measuring customer satisfaction and developing actions that continually improve services.
- Develops communication tools to keep customers informed of changes, developments, products/services and results of areas of responsibility.
- Plans, prepares, implements and monitors the departmental budget, projects patient levels, staff growth and space remodeling needs. Analyzes costs and fees; recommends changes.
- Participates in long-range planning strategies related to the department's revenues, human resource needs and services.
- Ensures continuous self-development through attendance of training, classes, professional seminars, conferences and professional associations.
- Ensures the continued development of direct and indirect reports as well.
- Performs duties as a technologist as needed, to maintain skills and assist with patient care needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Hospital Administration, Allied Health or a related field.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Certifications:
- Must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(ARRT), in good standing; specific credential dependent on modality or may also be credentialed as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, RDMS, through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board: C.N.M.T. dependent on modality.
- Current state licensure required prior to employment, dependent on modality.
- BLS Healthcare Provider required.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
- Strong delegation, planning, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Experience:
- Minimum seven years of progressive healthcare service operations experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- In addition, requires five years of related managerial experience.
- Experience should include preparing schedules, administering evaluations/corrective actions, interviewing, budgets and evaluating equipment.
- Proven positive relationship building with physicians, nursing and top leadership.
- Proven success in business planning and financial management.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a computer.
- Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing and the ability to verbally communicate.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be available for after-hours support by pager and computer.
- Must be able to function in a stressful environment.
